    The art nouveau or art nouveau was an art movement that was very popular in Europe between 1890 and 1914. This development in art was a departure from the gloomy and dark Middle Ages and also a reaction to Impressionism. The expression in art nouveau manifested itself especially in many applications; the glass art, in paintings, sculptures and in architecture. The art movement had a short and violent heyday during the period also known as the belle époque.

    The First World War put an end to this wonderful and exuberant art development and threw humanity into a dark period of black fascism that lasted until after the Second World War.
